Horrabridge is situated in West Devon district, close to the western boundary of Dartmoor National Park, with the town of Tavistock at its north and the city of Plymouth to the south. Nestled in a river valley, the topography rises steadily to the north east and the high moorland of Dartmoor.
In 2006 the population was given as 2115 with 800 dwellings. In the village there is St Johns the Baptist Church, a bakery, 2 well respected public houses, a popular fish & chip shop, a hairdressers, a computer shop, an artist studio and a village shop for all your essential needs.
The Primary & Nursery School, of approx. 200 pupils, has one of the best reputations in the area.
The Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association field football teams at Junior, Senior Men and Senior Womens and the Junior Section, fields the most number of teams in the district. Other organisations include a Scout Group, a Youth Club, and a mens charity,The Horrabridge Cavaliers.
Tilly-Sur-Seulles in Normandy is twinned with the village and the Twining Association visit France every other year with a reciprocal visit by our French friends the following one.
